How bloated files impact your unstructured file storage

Microsoft Office is widely used across US and Allied/Coalition defense networks, providing a rich exchange of information and knowledge. Documents, spreadsheets and presentations frequently include images, charts and other graphics that are highly relevant to the information being conveyed. Unfortunately, these files can get extremely bloated.

File bloat is caused by inappropriate choice of image formats; excessive image resolution or large blocks of data unnecessary for normal use of the file. This waste or bloat can account for as much as a third of your total unstructured file storage, sometimes more.

When military units are deployed at sea or 'in the field', storage is often a scarce resource, so there is little margin for storing waste.

NXPowerLite fixes file bloat - permanently

NXPowerLite for File Servers attacks file bloat at the core, reducing Microsoft Office and JPEG file sizes by up to 95%*.

It analyzes the content on your server and replaces any bloated files with smaller, optimized versions. And, as optimized files don't need to be decompressed or rehydrated, there's no negative effect on system performance.

Les fichiers restent dans leur format d'origine, retiennent leurs attributs et l'intégrité visuelle de leur contenu.
